They're great for actual stomach aches, although a few times things got a little runny for me. I don't know of any limit to taking DigestZen, my issues are usually resolved in 1, if not two capsules. I do try to give them at least an hour to work. If you're looking to pass your normal food in an optimal manner, then I'd actually suggest the terrazyme capsules.
