Different things work for different children. We used Clove on our first child, but our second responded much better to Melaleuca. We used it neat on the gums and didn't have much complaint. However, a friend of mine didn't have such good results. Her son would scream even if she diluted it very much. They say not to give Wintergreen to babies, but I have, and that works too, although I haven't tried that one in awhile. I've heard recommendations for Lavender along the jawline, but it never worked for my girls. Hope you can find something! Right now my almost 1 year old is cutting her 4th molar, and my 2 1/2 year old is cutting her 8th molar. It's not fun! From the age of your child, I would assume she's cutting the first molars or the eye teeth. Nasty business! I sympathize with you.
