in seeing if the oils worked for his Aspergers. I was interested in having them use
the Balance and/or Vetiver. The reason they brought him over was to try the Aroma
Touch. My grand nephew explained to me that he probably would not be able to
lie still while I did the technique. He also explained to me why he did things so erratically.
He had a difficult time holding his head down when we started, he kept swishing it back
and forth. I followed the recommended protocol, applying the Balance first for grounding.
He never moved again, in fact did not even speak (which was very unusual). When we finished
the technique he actually sat and visited with us as any normal young person would do, for
at least 30 minutes. One important part of this story is that she stopped the meds the day before
so she could see if the oils would work.
She continued with the ATT for a while and the Vetiver, Lavender and Frankincense. However the
cost was difficult for her to deal with and she would not take him off his meds. I truly felt that if she
had given this at least a 3 month consistent protocol she could have started weaning him off the
meds.
I think she wanted to but was so ingrained in the medical side she just could not bring herself
to make the changes and the added expense of the oils was more than she could handle.
The day after we did the ATT she had him back of full meds. She told me that he went out of
control. I asked her if she used the oils when they got home and did she apply them consistently
and she told me no, she wanted to see how long the oils would work! After she put him back of
the meds (eleven different pills!) she used the oils but not consistently and only did the ATT a
couple of times.
I truly felt that they would have worked if she had given them a fair chance but she was not willing
to risk it and I can't blame her. I wanted to share this story with you so you could share it with your
friend. I really feel that a consistent protocol and weaning him off the meds very slowly could actually
heal the sparks in his brain that cause his difficulties. I use the term sparks because that is what my
grand nephew uses to explain his outbursts.
Hope this helps a little,
Pat

I have searched the files and not found much relating to Asperger's
Syndrome. I have a good friend with a 17 year old son who has
Asperger's and is on some pretty serious medications. They are
already a homeopathic household and would like to wean him off his
meds. They tried once before and he turned manic and had to revert
back to the regimen. She is very proactive with her family"s health
and closely monitors dietary needs and concerns as well.
I took her some Balance to try on her son. She is interested but
hasn't started yet because she has two very pertinent questions. I
need help from anyone out there who has personally dealt with
Asperger's Syndrome. She is open to a person-to-person call with
someone who has a teenager with Asperger's. Here are her two
questions:
First and foremost, how do you know it is working? On his medication
and diet, he is well maintained. How can she know the oil is working
without going completely off the meds yet?
Second, what oil regimen do you use and how do you apply? Specifically
which oils are used for daily maintenance (I told her Balance) and
which are used as needed?
I look forward to more information for her. Thanks!
