[Everything doTERRA] Re: sunscreen

If you look at how quickly your fractionated coconut oil absorbs when you use it, then you will see the difference.  If you use the solid virgin coconut oil, then it would be more oily on the surface and be a threat for sunscreen.  But, you can rub the mixture in and within 3-5 minutes all the oil is absorbed and they can go outside!  I have great luck putting lavender, helichrysum, and sandalwood in some FCO.  (sandalwood has the great ability to help with UV radiation)  just what I do!  hope that helps.

I am recently new to essential oils. I am currently trying different ones to help with different issues. My 2 year old grand daughter is allergic to sunscreens so I was considering trying the recipe with the combination of helichrysum and FCO. Or one that also included lavender. My question was about the coconut oil. People use tanning oils that have coconut oil in them to tan. How is this keeping a person from burning? Or is this a completely different type of oil. I didn't want to try it til I had talked to others that have tried EO.   Thanks
