[Everything doTERRA] Re: Hypertension/High Blood Pressure and Wintrgreen

Yes, we have had experience with this.  DO NOT use peppermint.  Rosemary is also a mint and I suspect wintergreen might also be a no-no.  In my house, I can not diffuse any oil blends in a small room area if they contain these items.  This is also in the year before last edition of the Essentials book...(sorry can't think of the name of the book..).  anyway, I caught it when I was reading about high blood pressure.  In our case, Agent Orange makes it worse.  So, you may not have as sever reaction.  We (hubby and I) take COQ10 to supplement our blood pressures meds.  I take a small prescription and my hubby takes a larger prescription.  We both find COQ10 makes a difference.  I don't know how that would equal to one of the oils.  Maybe someone can post here.  But...read ingredients of your oils for peppermint.

Recently I was told that if I have high blood pressure I shouldn't use Wintergreen as it tends to boost blood pressure.  Is this correct?  If so, are there other EO's that have the same effect?  I'm attempting to manage my blood pressure with EO's but I have my annual physical in a few weeks and really don't want to go back on any HTN meds.  I want to manage my health as naturally as possible but I want to do it wisely.

Can anyone offer any insight on this?  Thank you.
