Re: [Everything doTERRA] Carrageenan in DDR prime

This was posted on August 24th by Patricia Leavitt regarding the carrageenan question:

Here it is:

Below is some information on carrageenan safety. By the way, it's not in the information below, but I just read an article that carrageenan was now approved for infant formula in the European Union, one of the most stringent approval systems in the world.

Carrageenan is a natural fiber extracted from seaweed. It is used in our new vegetarian softgels and beadlets. It is a minor component of the shell itself which helps form the gel structure, not a part of the product.  Also, the small amount in our toothpaste is spit out after brushing, and cannot be absorbed in the mouth. The amount you actually consume is more than 500 times smaller than a dose that has no effect on the body. As with any well studied ingredient, carrageenan has been studied at very high doses to find out at what point it might cause harm. Its safe level is much higher than all vitamins and minerals, which are of course necessary, but also toxic at higher than needed doses. Carrageenan has been used in low doses in ice cream and other foods for decades with no negative effects at the dose used. The dose makes the poison, and the dose we use is very small and completely safe.

Seaweed and seaweed fiber are used safely and extensively throughout the world and have well-established safety records supported by numerous clinical studies. Carrageenan is GRAS (Generally Recognized As Safe), approved for use by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the U.S., by the European Parliament and Council, by the Joint World health Organization and by the Food and Agriculture Organization Expert Committee on Food Additives. Additionally, a recent study by the WHO has found carrageenan to be safe at doses of 1000 milligrams per liter. Our capsules contain only a fraction of this amount.

I noticed that carrageenan is in DDR prime.  I've heard that it is cancer causing. I also heard that this issue was addressed at convention. Does anyone know how they addressed it and what was said, or where I could find the information on my own?
