I'm not sure why whoever you talked to hadn't ever heard of this. They are usually pretty good, but also there is always new people working. There are times when the blend gets that sluggish look with the brown bits from being the bottom of the container. There is nothing wrong with it, if anything it could be a little more powerful.
If it really bothers you then I suggest you ask them to replace it, but I know there is really nothing wrong with it.
