[Everything doTERRA] Re: Sinus

I wake every morning with a runny rose from allergies. The insides of my nostrils swell shut so nothing can get out... so it just sort of drips out for about 20-30 minutes. Once the swelling goes down I can blow it but until that time my sinuses are completely stopped up.
I currently use Peppermint oil to clear it up by applying it directly to the end of my nose and sometimes even up inside my nostrils a bit - I WILL TELL YOU THAT IT BURNS LIKE CRAZY but to me, the burning is better than a runny, stuffy nose for 1/2 hour!

BUT THE GOOD NEWS is that last night I spoke to an acupuncturist who uses Doterra oils in her practice.
Needless to say, she cringed when I told her how I'm currently using the peppermint oil and even suggested that I stop in case it desensitizes me to it over time. What she recommended was to put a dab of it on your face, on the outside of each nostril. Not on your nostril itself but on your face next to where your nostrils are - towards the bottom. So if you are looking at your face, draw a straight line from beneath each pupil down your cheek until you are in line with the bottom of your nostril (not the middle but the bottom). Then slide your finger closer to your nostril so that your fingertip is still touching your cheek and the side of your finger is touching the bottom of your nostril. Make sense? Even if you push on that spot slightly you can feel it in your sinuses. Put a drop of the Peppermint oil on your fingertips and touch this spot (on both sides). I tried it this morning and it worked for me! I was so shocked! You don't want to use too much peppermint oil though because it can burn your eyes but its been my experience that using it in this spot doesn't require much oil... and boy, it feels a lot better than putting it IN your nose! =)

Good luck!

I get really bad sinuses on a daily basis.  My face feels like it has been shoved into a pillow, my teeth begin to hurt and I get tired from my her ache.  I have tried lavender, breath, deep blue, past tense, and frankincense.  Any other suggestions!!??  I can breath fine but obviously it's a deeper issue.
