[Everything doTERRA] Re: Oils for Type 1 Diabetes

Hi,

I have been Diabetic Type 1 since the age of 4 but under no circumstances would I even attempt to take a young child off insulin.  I am a nurse and have lived with diabetes for 54 years with absolutely no side effects whatsoever.  Very young diabetics have very little chance of their pancreas producing any insulin at all and although I have had personal miracles in my own life using doTERRA eo's for other health problems, I would tread very carefully when treating a child of 2 years old with diabetes.  I know you are probably concerned about the horrendous effects of diabetes later in her life but I sincerely believe that if you allow your child's diet to be not too rigid then she will not be brittle and have major reactions when she adjusts her diet a little later on.  Just love her and do not feel guilty for having to inject her with life saving insulin.  My father used to get so emotional when he injected me but I learned to inject myself very soon after diagnosis and my life has been really good and continues to be so.

Hi All,

Just curious if anyone has used Essential Oils to help treat or improve the efficiency of insulin for Type 1 Diabetes.  My daughter - 2 years old - was diagnosed in Sept 2013.  She just got her insulin pump and we started using Coriander Oil on her feet at night. First all over the bottom of her feet and now we're targeting just the areas that correspond to her pancreas.  We just reduced her insulin dosage from 3 AM to 7 AM by only .025 units...but it's a start.  She was waking up at 57, 61, and 62 over the last few days (too low even for an adult).

If anyone has used Oils for Type 1 Diabetes in toddlers/infants, I would love to know what you've tried, what works and what doesn't.

Thanks!

Jessica
