Good idea about putting the oils on his back. I guess I thought if an oil caused a bleeding risk, it would do so topically as well but I suppose that's not the case?  He had lidocane patches and they didn't really seem to do a lot for him so he quit using them. He is also experiencing headache due to the cancer spreading to his brain. The morphine bomb was helping with that as well but now  he can't take it. Last night, I rubbed his head/temples/neck with Past Tense and that worked really well for the headache. Perhaps I'll tell my mom to rub his head every time he has a breathing treatment to help keep the headaches at bay. Thanks so much for the information. =)

the other thing that worked extremely well for him was a pain patch called lidoderm. they said we could use that 12 hours on and 12 hours off. I don't know what we would have done without this because we could not be there with him all the time. if you look up lidoderm. Com it should talk to you about it
