[Everything doTERRA] Re: Tooth Extraction: Before, During & After- Please Help

I don't know which oils or when or where but I do know that you don't want dry socket, which is something that can happen after the extraction. Here's the description for dry socket from WebMD.com. "The socket is the hole in the bone where the tooth has been removed. After a tooth is pulled, a blood clot forms in the socket to protect the bone and nerves underneath. Sometimes that clot can become dislodged or dissolve a couple of days after the extraction. That leaves the bone and nerve exposed to air, food, fluid, and anything else that enters the mouth. This can lead to infection and severe pain that can last for 5 or 6 days."

Any sucking-type motion (using a straw, smoking, pulling oil) is a big no-no because it can cause dry socket, which is very painful . You need to wait until you have healed before doing any of those things.

Also, with dental pain, you have to stay ahead of the pain, because if you try to be brave and stretch the time between pain meds/oils it is very difficult to catch up.

Sorry that I wasn't able to help with the oil-specific questions, but I'm following this thread to find out what others have found helpful.

Hi everyone, please share any testimonies, ideas, suggestions, protocols, recommendation etc., regarding what oil(s) to use, how many drops, how often & where to apply the oils before, during and/or after tooth (wisdom tooth) extraction? Also, I read something about a dry pocket tooth. What & how to prevent/avoid this? I'm not sure if this happens before or after the extraction. I also read something about not to oil pull before or right after the extraction. If so, how long before and after not to oil pull? Thank you all in advance for your time in responding to my concerns.
