Is this similar to an inflammation of the mucus membranes? If so, there are many oils that have anti-inflammatory properties, two of which are Peppermint and Wild Orange. These would be good to diffuse on his nightstand during the night. If he has a private office at work I'd also suggest taking a diffuser to work as well so that he can diffuse there. If he doesn't have a private office he could use the "poor man's diffuser" by putting a drop each of peppermint and wild orange in the palm of his hand, rub them together then cup over his nose and inhale for 30-60 seconds or more. Give the olfactory sensor a rest though, don't diffuse constantly - take breaks. You can find some good diffusers that mist for 15 seconds/rest for 15 seconds or similar time pattern.
-- If he doesn't like Peppermint or Wild Orange you still have a number of oils to choose from that have anti-inflammatory properties.

Hello All! I've searched the internet high and low and can't find a solution for what is apparently called rhinitis medicamentosa. Basically what that means is hubby used too much nose spray (he realizes now that is a no-no) and now can get no relief without more and more frequent doses of it. He's realized he needs to just stop using the nose spray, but is really suffering with a super congested nose. He's tried Breath, tried a Neti-pot with 2 drops each lavender and frankincense, other oils like white fir and peppermint and a simple saline solution spray. Does anybody have any experience with this and what oils or even other home remedies helped? Since we're still fairly new to oils I don't have eucalyptus yet. Thanks in advance for any tips anyone can offer.
