I had the gastric by pass surgery 11 months ago. With the one I had it bypasses all but a small part of you stomach and goes to the intestines. Mal nutrition is a big problem because the food isn't in your stomach long enough to absorb nutrients well . I take the LLV as well as extra D, A, B vitamins and iron. I am hoping to be able to cut down on the others and just do LLV eventually. I had the surgery done for medical reasons not weight loss and am feeling much better.

--I had 11 feet of my intestines removed during a hysterectomy due to complications during the surgery. The only noticeable difference that I have had is that I void my food quicker than most people, especially dairy since I am lactose intolerant. I am on the LLV, and it has really helped me alot! They work better than any supplement I have ever taken. Every vitamin I have taken in the past, makes my sweat & urine smell like vitamins, but the LLV does not. My feeling is that it is because the body processes the LLV so much better than other vitamins. Unfortunately, I have never lost any weight from losing half my intestines. I hope she checks out this procedure fully before going through with it.Suzy

My sister is going to have weight loss surgery. It's a procedure that
will shorten her intestines, so there is a concern about her ability
to absorb nutrients. She was wondering if we have any oils that would
help with nutrient absorption. Also, I'm wondering if the LLV is
absorbed in the stomach or in the intestines. If it is quickly
absorbed, then that would probably be my recommendation for her.
