I developed shingles over the holidays in December. This is what worked for me: In a capsule 3-4 d. ea--clove, melaleuca, eucalyptus, myrrh.(Eucalyptus does not have a supplemental fact box, however we have it in our protective blend). every 3-4 hours. I applied helichrysum and doTERRA Healing Hands Rose Lotion topically over the outbreak. My shingles were gone in 10 days. However, recently I noticed, when under stress, the rash is now coming back...so, I have gone back to taking 1 capsule a day and applying the other topically to keep it under control. I used the top ANTI-VIRAL oils shown in the Modern Essentials book. The capsule helped control the nerve pain and the topical application helped eliminate the itching.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use for nerve pain. My mom had shingles 2 years ago in November. the rash went away in about a week but she has the nerve pain so bad she is on all kinds of meds and narcotics that is really hurting her health, She is in her late 70's and they just like to keep her on meds. I would like to get the pain under control or so she can deal with the pain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
