That's tough. I'm still trying to find the right combination to help my son sleep, but it isn't nearly as bad as that. My heart goes out to your grandson and daughter. Couple of non-oil questions: is he still napping? Though I haven't dealt with autism, I know cutting out my son's naps at an early age helped him sleep much better at night. yes, its tough for mom to loose the nap during the day but having a few more hours at night makes a big difference. Does he have his own room? If so maybe just allow him to be awake in there, so long as he doesn't roam the house or make noise to keep others up. Before my kids shared a room we just let our son quietly be in his room, even when he was as young as 2. You can't really force anyone to sleep, and as long as he's not bothering anyone just let him feel in control in there. Has she mentioned it to his pediatrician, there might be some good ideas there. I'm assuming he doesn't drink sodas or other caffeinated drinks and no chocolate (which has caffeine too). Other general tips I've read/tried,: no TV too late because it can get him excited and awake, lots of outside play to help him get his body lots of movement, room is dark? good temperature? have you tried leaving relaxing music or white noise in the room? Sometimes we let our son fall asleep in our room and carry him over afterwards, because this way he falls asleep a lot faster. I really hope she can figure this out, because it is tough.

My grandson is 3 years old and may have light autism. He does not sleep. He might sleep 3 to 4 hours a night but is up roaming the house, just standing leaned up against his bed or his mom's bed or just sitting in the floor. She has tried numerous oils and recipes and none phases him. She is exhausted. She has a 2 year old and a 6 year old also who she home schools so she is at her wits end. Anyone have any suggestions?
