I had a diskectomy in the L4-5 a couple of years ago. Every so often my lower back goes out, (can be leaning over to tuck in a sheet, bending over while sitting in a chair to put on socks) and I have to go to the Chiropractor to adjust it back. However, the nerves and muscles are painful for days sometimes even weeks when this happens. Since my surgery and PT, I am very careful to do certain things certain ways to try to prevent my back from going out. Unfortunately, it doesn't always prevent it.
I am new to oils. A good friend of mine made me a circulation formula after my discectomy and when I roll it on my lower back, it calms my back and it quits hurting for about 20 minutes. This formula has Frankincense, Fennel, Lavender, Geranium, Peppermint, Juniper, Cypress, and Copaiba. I am thankful that this helps for this amount of time, but was wondering if there was something else that would last longer or if I should be applying the oils to my feet, etc.
I have seen posts that say Frankincense and wintergreen are good for immediate relief, but have also seen that Birch and Soothing Blend can be used for immediate pain relief as well.
Can any one tell me what they have used and if they would recommend it?
My aching back thanks in advance.
