Thanks for adding me to the group! Just spent the last hour browsing and have learned so much already!
Surprisingly, my husband is very open to trying any oils with external applications. However, he is extremely allergic to all things coconut and all the "recipes" for ointments, salves and balms contain coconut oil (the solid kind). What would be an acceptable substitute for the coconut products but still maintain the desired consistency? Not including shea butter, as I can't tolerate the scent.
I would also like to use coconut as a carrier for my own internal applications, but don't want to put him at risk. Can you offer another substitute?
Thank you so much for your input!
