We use raw, organic shea butter for rashes. I purchase it from Amazon. When it arrives, I put it in my stand mixer. I whip the shea butter until it's smooth and fluffy. I add a couple heaping tablespoons of coconut oil and drizzle in a tablespoon or two of any other oil I might have and want to add. I've added almond, jojoba, avocado and apricot all together and separately, at different times. I also add essential oils, while it's whipping. When, I first started making our shea butter body butter, I added lavender.
If you try, this be prepared for the whipped shea butter to expand in volume. When you whip it, you'll end up with almost twice as much as you started with. The extra, stores well in the refrigerator.
I suggest taking an shower. Pat dry, so you're still damp and apply a layer where ever you have rash. You'll feel greasy to begin with but in about 15 minutes the shea butter absorbs. I used to have my dd run around naked during this time.
Shea Butter is highly anti-inflammatory and contains all kinds of Vitamin A and E. It also has an SPF of 4-5.
My dd used to get rashes that started out as dry itchy bumps. She scratched them and they would turn into weepy, inflamed rashes, which she would then scratch until bloody. These rashes lasted up to 6 weeks.
Once, we started using the shea butter, the rash would go away within a week. If we caught it early, in the dry bumpy stage, we could head it off entirely.
We have made some dietary changes, at this point. We've removed gluten, dairy, nightshades, citrus and soy but those changes came after we found Shea Butter.
I highly recommend shea butter to anyone suffering from rashes. I can't say enough good about it.
