You can do either. Regardless of what you chose I would put them in a zip lock bag in case one opens, leaks or gets damaged it won't be all over the place. I travel on planes a lot and always put them in a zip lock bag and add it to other toiletries in a larger zip lock bag. I have taken all of them at once and had no problems.
