We generally assume those on this board are using doTERRA oils. It is very difficult to find a pure Birch. Most is synthetic or actually Wintergreen. Just as most rose is rose geranium or adulterated. Regulations of oils being what they are, adulteration to "create" what can't be found easily is the standard in essential oils which is why sourcing is so important.
Other sources: My most favorite essential oil book is Modern Essentials. Its a great what to use for what. Another great source from one of my favorite blenders Dr Susan Lawton is Healthily Ever After.

Try doing a search in the google group under bone spurs and you will find other conversations of what others are using.
