Re: [Everything doTERRA] Aromas linked to memories

As children, my cousin and I were molested by her father.  It began in the bathroom at bath time.  We used a lavender based bubble bath, and to this day, I cannot tolerate the scent of lavender.  I do not like any of the blends with lavender or lavendin in them like Serenity and Immortelle.  They make physically ill to the point of vomiting.  I avoid these oils as much as possible, but have not overcome my aversion to them.  If you do find a "fix it" please, let me know.  You might try the book "Emotions and Essential Oils" to see if that will help you to overcome those unpleasant memory associated scents.

Okay, so we all know how our sense of smell is linked so closely to memories, right?
I'm just coming out of the most horrific couple of years of my life.  I used tons of oils to get me through the hard times.  I want to continue to use them because, well...because they are just awesome.  But I now have so many unhappy things linked to certain aromas/oils...

I guess my question is, how does one go about 'reframing' the aromas and unlinking them from the garbage?    Does this make any sense?

Sorry, stress has taken it's toll on my ability to express things well.

Thanks for your advice!
