[Everything doTERRA] Re: Epilepsy

Hi Erika, if you go to http://everythingdoterra.com/ and choose Health
Concerns, then Epilepsy, you will find some more information. Much of
it is testimonies from others with young children, mentioning their
protocol. You just might find some helpful info in there. Good luck
and Happy New Year!

[Everything doTERRA] Re: Cough and chest congestion

Hi Heather, all the suggestions here are great, but if they don't get
rid of the cough you might try a drop of Sandalwood. Have found that
in stubborn coughs that will do the trick. Thyme is a great
expectorate. Sometimes you just have to be persistent until you find
the exact oil that is needed. Good luck, and Happy New Year!!

[Everything doTERRA] Hand, foot and mouth disease

A friend of mine has two of her children just diagnosed with the virus enterovirus or hand, foot and mouth disease. I know this is an intestinal virus. Can anyone suggest a protocol using the oils? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as her kids are very uncomfortable. Thanks in advance!

[Everything doTERRA] Re: Diffuser Blend

Thank you so much girls, I totally agree with you about the dryness of
the air in the winter. I'll have to try to keep the air more moist. We
do have a wood burning stove and we have a kettle on top of it with
water in it, but obviously it's not doing enough, so will have to do
something more. I'm for sure going to do what Pat suggested until I
get it all figured out.
Thanks again and HAPPY NEW YEAR! =0)

In winter, I keep a large pan of water on low on the back of my stove to keep moisture in the air. Be sure to try it first in the daytime so you know how long it will last.

And you are right, I did run my diffuser continually. I don't run it
again until after about 4 hours due to it being in the air still. When

Re: [Everything doTERRA] Cough and chest congestion

my 1 ye old and 3 yr old both have been coughing nonstop and congested. my usual oils are purify and breathe but they weren't helping. finally in the middle of the night I tried marjoram and thyme in fco and rubbed it on their chests and backs. it worked within seconds and we had several quiet hrs of peaceful sleep! I reapply it apx every 8 hrs as needed. I am so greatful for doterra!

[Everything doTERRA] Cassia w grapefruit blend

This note is for Sharla Snow. You had previously written the comment
below.....I was wondering if you'd tell me which diffuser you use and
how many drops of Cassia and Grapefruit you put in it. I now have a
lotus diffuser.
Thanks =0)
.... Just a thought, Cassia (8cents per drop)is wonderful and a lot
cheaper
than cinnamon(26cents per drop). I diffuse it all the time. My fav
diffuser blend is Cassia with grapefruit. I usually save my cinnamon
for times that I really need it for its antibacterial properties.
Just an idea... But, it makes sense NOT to stick your face right in
the mist of the diffuser when you're diffusing any oil that is
"hot." ....

Re: [Everything doTERRA] how to you remove the orofice reducers

I barely start to put the lid on and let it "catch" the orofice. Rock the lid back and forth and presto the orofice pops right off.

[Everything doTERRA] Irregular Bleeding

Hello,
I am new to doTerra (about 2 months) and essential oils in general and have been loving them!!  I have been using them for many things and applying them to my family as well (I have been using the Family Physicians kit - peppermint, frankincense, on-guard, melaleuca, lavender, digestzen and deep blue - as well as Balance and Serenity).
I have always been very regular with my periods and very consistent with flow etc....until this month.  My period came about a week and a half early and was very heavy (with a different appearance and everything...almost like clotting).  Then after finally stopping for only one day it started up again??   I am getting worried that the oils might have something to do with it.  I am 44 years old and really thinking it's not pre-menopausal - it just seems too coincidental that this happened and the only thing I have changed is using the oils (maybe I've used too many?).   I am otherwise very healthy and have no toxic issues etc.  I have combed this forum and can't find any information about the oils causing bleeding etc (quite the opposite effects apparently), but would love to know if anyone has any information or experience.
Thank you for your help

[Everything doTERRA] Macro Hole in the left eye

I was told two years ago that I have a macro hole in my left eye and the only treatment, which is only 70% guaranteed, is eye surgery where a gas bubble is inserted in the eye and you must remain bent over forward for two weeks until the hole fills in. Wondering if using the same oil treatment for macular degeneration might work? Has anyone had any experience with this condition? It is common with young athletes and older persons such as myself.

Try purify, also you can make a salve and use like Vick's. Use beeswax 1/2 oz, 1/4c olive oil, melt that and add eucalyptus 10 drops, breathe 20 drops, peppermint 10 drops, and wintergreen 10 drops, it makes enough for 4 1 oz jars. Put on bottom of feet chest etc...

[Everything doTERRA] Disappointed

What I have found is that even if I do get sick &I am aggressive there are just some things out there (bacteria& viral) that are tough to shake. I got sick 2 wks ago & as soon as I realized I WAS really getting sick (started out w/a lil achy-ness in my ear) I began using my oils VERY aggressively. I went to my naturopath the next day & he confirmed I indeed had a major bacterial infection in my sinuses, ears &lymphatics...he muscle tested me for several oils & even though I had been taking WAAAY more Onguard than normal +Thyme& Myrrh &others when he tested me my body needed 18 drops of Onguard/day for 3 days! I almost had a stroke b/c @convention we learned that more is not always better and 18 drops/day was a HUGE amt of Onguard...I also knew I was sicker than I had been in over 2yrs so I did the 18 drops/day for 3 days & I began to improve...I was not "cured" even the 1st wk & I am still treating some congestion+ not 100%. However, I feel I can confidently say if I were treating this w/modern medicine I would be on my 2nd or 3rd round of antibiotics+steroids &it would likely take me another 2-3 wks (based on past experiences) so even though I have been sick longer than I like I am at least on the mend & further along than I would be had I used Rx meds. Sometimes I have gotten so used to not being sick w/the oils that when something like this happens I am quickly reminded I am human &I can get sick. I would not trade my oils for all the Rx meds in a Pharmacy...I KNOW they have helped my body heal &forced me to rest (essential for healing)&do almost nothing for 2 wks...

I say all that to say that although our oils ARE amazing &powerful they are not a substitute for healthy choices& rest. We are so used to instant everything that we forget some things just take time &health/healing is a process many more times than it is an event;) Sorry for the ramble but hopefully I said something helpful to someone...lol:)

[Everything doTERRA] Re: Storing OIls

I agree with you that the names on the bottles are difficult to read. I put them on right after my morning shower, before I put on my glasses. I'm getting so I can tell by the shape of the letters which oil is which, but it would be nice to have larger or more bold writing. I keep my oils in a box that a candle came in. It's just the right size for the amount I have now.

[Everything doTERRA] Posting

Not sure why I am confused, but I want to put out a post/quesiton, but I cannot find where that button is?!

I have two cats.  Not sure if one or both is sick.  There are so many circumstances, I am not sure what to do at the moment.  One or both of the cats keeps peeing on piles of clothes.  Yes solution, do the laundry ASAP, or don't put clothes on floor, BUT they will find something whether it is a corner of a blanket or something hanging off or out.  First thought bladder infection.  The antibiotics give them diarrhea...why antibiotics?  I have read you have to becareful giving oils to cats.  Any experiences?  NOW part two.  We have been doing remodeling, and it is taking forever.  It seems the cats are annoyed that we have stored things (aside from the other stuff that was already stored there) in their "cat room" they are pooping in the room we have cleared out to remodel!!  Not only poop, but big piles of diarrhea.  How am I suppose to put new carpet down, when they are doing this???  I'm thinking of locking them up at the vet to be observed.  This is making me nuts, and my husband is furious.  Not to mention, they still use the litter box...What the..??

Thanks, Joelle

I had a similar diagnosis about a year ago, "severe" arthritis of the knee with "complete" cartliage loss." My situation was further complicated by sciatica from a misalignment of the verterbrae in my lower back. I had constant pain and serious mobility issues and couldn't even get comfortable in bed. After a lot of expense for diagnostic tests, the doctor said the problems were degenerative and irreversible and all that could be done would be to manage the symptoms. He prescribed several different medications over the course of a few months, none of which were effective in managing the pain.

This all started about the same time I got involved with doTERRA (about 15 months ago). Being a newby, I didn't know what to expect and didn't understand the importance of consistency and patience. I would try an oil or blend, and when I didn't see any substantial immediate relief, I'd move on to something else. Eventually, I got some relief and better sleep by applying Deep Blue with a warm compress on my lower back at bedtime, but I wasn't getting anywhere with the knee.

At the 2012 doTERRA Convention, I was staying a few blocks from the Salt Palace and the walk to and from my hotel was almost more than I could manage. The long hours of sitting didn't help things either, but it was all worth it, because Laura Jacobs' talk on candida was the answer to my prayers. I began that very day making the recommended changes to my diet and after the first course of the GX cleanse, I was already noticing remarkable improvement. Now, after three courses of the cleanse, I've lost over 40 pounds and am completely pain free. If you haven't already signed up for Laura's "Kickin Candida Cleanse" which begins in January, DO IT NOW. TODAY IS THE DEADLINE. The only thing you have to lose is the pain! (See attached document for details.)

Good luck.

Hey Kristy!

What state are you in?  I would love to come see your boxes!  I'm on the east coast, so if you're out west, I might just have to have you ship one to me...

Do you still have any for sale?

http://s1173.photobucket.com/albums/r586/skoykrsity/?action=view&current=DSC_0020.jpg

They all cost $50
There are 3 different sizes.

12" x 12" x 4" holds 64 bottles. I have 1 and more being made of this size.

15" x 8" x 4" holds 50 bottles,  I have 2 of this size

13.25" x 7" x 4" holds 36 bottles. I have 4 of this size

It is a pine box with no stain.
They are tall enough for past tense to fit in too.
Cost $50 + $10 S&H= $60 paid through PayPal

I love to keep mine on my Computer desk or on the kitchen counter.

Hello everyone - Happy New Year - here in Australia we are 1 hour and 8 minutes into 2013 - and it's going great!!!
Son (28 yrs old) and smoking a pack a day visited last week.
I introduced him to Black Pepper and asked him to do a little trial for me - "Just put a drop under your tongue every time you feel like a smoke," I said.  He wasn't thrilled but agreed place a drop under his tongue whenever he remembered to.  I promoted the idea that he was not meant to try to give up smoking whatsoever, just use the oils and let them go to work and provide genuine feedback on the experience.

He began using the Black Pepper two or three times a day.

OUTCOME:
First packet of cigarettes lasted him THREE full days.

He got a little casual about it and started using the oil under his tongue once a day.

OUTCOME:
Second pack of ciggers lasted TWO days!

FEEDBACK:  He reported that, 1.  He was still feeling that he was smoking the same amount - but obviously wasn't, which was a little hard for him to explain and somewhat bewildering.  2.  It was harder to finish every cigarette and easier to stub out.  3.  Sometimes the cigarette tasted less than appealing when he was using the oil.  He's taken a bottle back with him with the intent of continuing to trial it.

Hope this helps in some way.  By the way - the oil is not a hot oil (in fact, has a sweet tone to it), so give it a go and "May your dreams for 2013 be truly blessed."

[Everything doTERRA] Re: Laundry Detergent

Keep looking Stacey - they do sell it in Darwin (at least up until recently!).    Check the top shelves - they do like to keep it out of little hands!  Not that expensive and you can still add Essential Oils - I added about 15-20drops of lemon and the same of lavender to my first batch - we are loving it!  Grab some while clay and tie it into the end of a stocking to keep in the bin to prevent moisture taking over.  Or gather the little sachets that come in everything - drop them all into a little bag and your have it ready-made!  Remember, you can always google a recipe for borax-free homemade washing powder/liquid.  Cheers, Cherylynn

Does anyone have an alternative to Borax. I am in Australia, and I can't find it in any supermarkets. Thanks

I  make a power detergent and i get all my ingredients from walmart - next time i'm going to make liquid so i can add my essential oils.  I have left over powder as I ddin't use entire box.  All ths cost me less than $10 and I can still get about 4 more gallons out of those boxes :)

1 cup Washing Soda
1 cup Borax
1 bar Felsnaptha soap
1 cup Oxyclean or Sun powder

Grate soap into power mixture and you're done.  You can increase your recipe as you need. I use 2-2 tbsp scoops per load.  Its so simple I laughed that I had not done this sooner and my family thinks its cool so they love washing clothes!
