I just wanted to drop in to say that DigestZen worked wonders on a bloated lamb last night. Bloat in 4-6 wk old lambs is life threatening and occurs quickly. Often the lamb does not survive since the gasses trapped in the lamb's rumen cause so much swelling that it impedes lung function and can cause heart failure. Sometimes, the only recourse is an incision in the lamb's side to relieve the pressure. (Obviously a risky move!)Yesterday afternoon, we noticed our bottle lamb was acting punky and looking "puffy," particularly on her left side. Traditional treatments call for forcing various things down a lamb's throat like GasX, Pepto etc... Some people say ginger mixed with water works, or vegetable oil, baking soda etc...I mixed 1/2 tsp ginger with water and squirted that down her throat, then waited about 30 mins, hoping to hear her burping and expelling some of the gas. Nothing. We thought of trying the Digest Zen, but I wasn't sure how much to give to a 20lb lamb. She would die without treatment so I figured some is better then nothing. I used 2-3 drops with water in a 6ml syringe and squirted that down her throat too. After more internet research I discovered that veg oil is a good thing because it lessens the froth in the rumen, so I mixed up more DigestZen in some veg oil and again... squirted that down her throat. Poor thing was a mess when we were done.After about 2 hrs, she looked as if nothing ever happened! I seriously could not believe the results. Her abdomen was no longer distended and she was boinking around last night like she'd never been sick. We are singing doTerra praises today!!--
