The Art and Science of Blending Essential Oils by SS doTERRA

About 20 minutes in it mentions Phenols and that they
"Can be quite toxic to skin, and present SOME concerns regarding liver
toxicity. Oils that contain a high proportion of Phenols should be
diluted and/or used for shor periods of time."
Primary Phenols mentioned: Clove, Lemongrass & Oregano
Secondary Phenols mentioned: Basil, Cassia, Cinnamon, Melaleuca
Did I misinterpret this statement?
